BUILDING CODE AND FIRE PROTECTION CONSULTANT (Vancouver)

We are seeking a skilled individual to review and assist on Certified Professional and similar complex projects in our Vancouver office.

The position requires a good working knowledge of Part 3 of the National Building Code, Provincial and local Building Codes, and an understanding of the fire protection principles and background that form the basis of these codes. It is essential that the applicant have significant experience in the construction process and field reviews of Part 3 buildings. The applicant should also have the ability to apply fire protection engineering methods to develop performance-based (i.e., equivalency) solutions to building code compliance issues.

The applicant should be able to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) with architects, engineers, and building code authorities.

The applicant should be an Architect, Engineer, Technician or Technologist (or eligible to be registered as such), having a minimum of two years' pertinent experience.

BUILDING CODE & FIRE PROTECTION CONSULTANT (Toronto)

We are seeking an individual for our Mississauga office, to review architectural, mechanical and electrical drawings for building code compliance and conduct field reviews relative to building code compliance.

Position requirements include a good working knowledge of Part 3 of the National Building Code of Canada and the Ontario Building Code, and an understanding of fire protection principles, together with the ability to communicate effectively (both in writing and verbally) with building code authorities and other design professionals.

Applicants should have a college diploma or university degree in a related field and, preferably, a minimum of two years’ pertinent experience. Strong computer skills and CAD experience would be an asset. Salary will be commensurate with experience and education.
