Senior Building Code Consultant


Job Summary

Our Vancouver office has an opportunity for a Senior Building Code Consultant. The individual will be responsible to conduct day to day project activities as assigned by Project Coordinator to review tasks required, the scope of services, fee/proposal structure and client contact details. This position will work with the Project Coordinator to have preliminary discussions to understand the project, schedule, etc. and obtain review materials as applicable; general drawings, previous precedent reports or other research information. This position will obtain baseline documentaiton and information needed to complete the tasks they are responsible for to produce deliverables in the allotted time frame and according to established standards.

This role is Monday-Friday with a 40 hour work week.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

Specific Technical Work involves prescriptive code analysis, in addition to standard and complex/unique alternative solution work (sometimes requiring performance-based approaches/fire modelling work) and client/design team interaction.

Involved in managing Certified Professional projects, in conjunction with the CP and designated project assistant

Work with other team members to identify code variances, develop alternative solution comments directly to client/project team and attend meetings to discuss/explain in further detail, as required. This position requires attending project meetings, site visits, field reviews and other out of ofice tasks, and involves other team members in these tasks as appropriate for training/involvement purposes.
